Jimmy Hart Shoot Interview (2003) 9/12/03
In this entertaining 2003 shoot interview, Jimmy Hart reflects on a remarkable career that saw him achieve success in both the music and wrestling industries. Before entering professional wrestling, Hart found fame as a member of the hit music group The Gentrys, whose song “Keep On Dancing” became a national success in the 1960s. He discusses his transition from music into the Memphis wrestling scene, where his gift for promotion, charisma, and microphone work helped transform him into one of the most recognizable managers in the business.
Hart looks back on his legendary managerial career in Memphis Wrestling, WWE, and WCW, where he guided some of wrestling’s biggest stars and teams to championship success. From managing Jerry Lawler’s rivals in Memphis to working alongside Hulk Hogan, The Hart Foundation, The Honky Tonk Man, The Nasty Boys, and countless others, Hart shares stories from wrestling’s biggest boom periods. He also discusses Vince McMahon’s national expansion, the Monday Night Wars, and his unique role in helping shape some of the most memorable characters and storylines in wrestling history.
