Austin Idol Shoot Interview 10/24/09
The “Universal Heart Throb” Austin Idol steps back into the spotlight for one of the most talked-about shoot interviews ever produced by Highspots. Now officially licensed and remastered by Title Match Network, this is the definitive two-hour-plus deep dive into one of professional wrestling’s most charismatic, controversial, and elusive figures.
After nearly two decades away from the wrestling world, Austin Idol returns in true Idol fashion — bold, unfiltered, and unapologetically honest.
With the cameras rolling, Idol pulls no punches as he reveals:
• The infamous battle royal winner’s check controversy that became wrestling urban legend
• The terrifying plane crash that nearly ended his career — and his life
• Behind-the-scenes memories from the legendary Memphis territory
• Working with two young future superstars — Randy Savage and Rick Rude — when no one else would
• His legendary rivalry with Jerry “The King” Lawler
• The explosive feud with Tommy Rich
• The unforgettable hair vs. hair climax that saw Lawler shaved bald
