Crash Holly Shoot Interview (2003) 7/25/03
Just months after his WWE release and only a few months before his untimely passing, Crash Holly sat down with Highspots on July 25, 2003 for one of the most revealing interviews of his career. Known to millions as the “allegedly over 400-pound” Hardcore Champion, Crash reflects on his rise from the independent wrestling scene to becoming one of WWE’s most entertaining and beloved performers. He discusses teaming with Hardcore Holly, the creation of the Holly Cousins, the legendary 24/7 Hardcore Championship rule, and the backstage creativity that turned the Hardcore Title into one of the Attitude Era’s most memorable attractions.
Crash also opens up about his release from WWE, his transition to TNA as “Mad Mikey,” and shares candid opinions on life behind the scenes in WWE during the Attitude and Ruthless Aggression eras. He discusses working with stars such as Steve Austin, The Rock, Triple H, Kurt Angle, Edge & Christian, The Dudley Boyz, Test, William Regal, Molly Holly, and Hardcore Holly, while giving fans an honest look at the highs and lows of his wrestling career. Recorded only months before his passing, this interview serves as a fascinating and emotional time capsule featuring one of wrestling’s most underrated performers at a pivotal moment in his life and career.
